About

I’m Kimmo Hakala. I run Cloudberry Content & Digital Marketing, and I do content, editing, and localization work — mostly for iGaming and for ecommerce brands selling into the Nordic market.

What I do

iGaming editing and consultancy. I’ve written for the industry for close to a decade — slot reviews, casino reviews, iGaming news, and game guides — for several affiliate companies active in the regulated Swedish iGaming market.

These days I do more editing and advising than writing from scratch: tightening content, fixing structure, and making sure it’s accurate and actually useful for acquisition and retention. I correct AI articles with factual information and create briefs that both freelancers and LLM’s can use effectively.

Before the writing, I worked the casino floor as a croupier for years — dealing blackjack, roulette, and poker, and servicing slot machines — so I know these games from the operator’s side, not just the page.

Nordic localization. I’m a native Swedish speaker and work in fluent English. I localize product content, store copy, and campaigns for brands moving into Swedish and Nordic markets. I translated over 500,000 words from English to Swedish for EmuCasino.

Ecommerce. I’ve been building online stores since 2014, starting with dropshipping apparel and coffee, and have run my own webshops including Sisushoppen and Ankdammen, which did a combined 60k in revenue in their first full year. That covers the whole thing — Shopify and WordPress builds, product and brand setup, and paid traffic through Meta Ads and Google Ads.

Background

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from Ramkhamhaeng University, and I’m certified through Google’s Digital Marketing program. Over nearly a decade freelancing under Cloudberry I’ve worked across content writing, translation, affiliate projects, and running online stores. Alongside the digital work I’ve developed brands from concept and launched a bar and a café, so I’ve handled the operating side of a business as well as the marketing side.

Outside of work I play chess, cycle, cook, and make music, and I travel and write about it when I can.
